Senior Data Analyst - Strategic Finance
RELAY Technologies
Relay is fundamentally reshaping how goods move in an online era. Backed by Europe's largest ever logistics Series A ($35M), led by deep tech investors Plural (whose portfolio spans fusion energy and space exploration), Relay is scaling faster than 99.98% of venture backed startups. We're assembling the most talent dense team the logistics industry has ever seen Relay's Mission is to free commerce from friction. Today, high delivery costs act as a hidden tax on e commerce, quietly shaping what can be sold online and limiting who can participate. We envision a world where more goods move more freely between more people, making the online shopping experience seamless and accessible to everyone. THE TEAM • 90 people, more than half in engineering, product and data • 45+ advanced degrees across computer science, mathematics and operations research • Thousands of data points captured, calculated, analysed and predicted for every single parcel we handle • An intellectually vibrant culture of first principles thinking, tight feedback loops and relentless experimentation The Opportunity Relay's network is scaling fast. The decisions that shape that growth, where to expand, how to price, where to invest, are made by a finance team that runs on data: driver level metrics, profitability models, pricing structures, and operational KPIs. This role exists to own the analytics layer that powers those decisions. As a Senior Data Analyst in the finance squad, you are responsible for how finance sees the business. You own the dashboards and reporting that give visibility into the metrics that matter: cost per parcel, expansion profitability, client and cohort performance, pricing dynamics, and the drivers underneath them. You translate raw operational data into views that finance can use to forecast, model, and act. Relay operates a centralised data team of around 30 data engineers, analysts, and data scientists, with analysts embedded into squads across the business. You will sit in the finance squad, but report into the centralised data team. You will work closely with the Senior Data Scientist in the squad, building the reporting and visibility layer on top of their simulation models. You will also work across squads, pulling the metrics they commit to the semantic layer and shaping them into the views finance needs. Who Will Thrive in This Role? You take ownership of your domain. You don't wait to be told what finance needs or when something is broken. You're proactive about understanding the questions they're trying to answer and making sure the data is there to answer them. You're an excellent data analyst who builds clean, reliable reporting that people actually use. You care about data quality, clarity, and making complex metrics understandable. You're fluent in SQL and experienced with dbt. You can build and maintain well structured models, not just write queries. You're comfortable with BI tools and visualisation platforms. You know how to design dashboards that surface the right information without clutter. You have at least 5 years of experience, ideally with some exposure to finance, FP&A, or commercial analytics. You understand how finance teams think about metrics and drivers. You communicate clearly with non technical partners. Finance will rely on your reporting to make decisions. You need to explain what it shows, where the data comes from, and where the limitations are. You're comfortable working across teams. You'll pull metrics from squads across the business, which means building relationships and understanding how different parts of Relay operate. Fast and Focused Hiring Process Talent Acquisition Interview - 30 min Technical SQL Interview - 1 hours Hiring Manager Interview - 45 min Case Study - 1 hour Values & Impact Interview - 45 min Decision and offer within 48 hours. Our process mirrors our pace of work. Compensation, Benefits & Workplace Generous equity, richer than 99% of European startups, with annual top ups to share Relay's success. Private health & dental coverage, so comprehensive you'd need to be a partner at a Magic Circle law firm to match it. 25 days of holidays Enhanced parental leave. Located in Shoreditch, our office set up enables the kind of in person interactions that drive impact. We work 4 days on site, with 1 day remote. Hardware of your choice. Extensive perks (gym subsidies, cycle-to-work, Friday office lunch, covered Uber home and dinner for late nights, and more). Who Thrives at Relay? Aim with Precision: You define problems clearly and measure your impact meticulously. Play to Win: You chase bold bets, tackle the hard stuff, and view constraints as fuel, not friction. 1% Better Every Day: You believe that small, consistent improvements lead to exponential growth. You move quickly, deliver results, and learn from every experience. All In, All the Time: You show up and step up. You take ownership from start to finish and do what it takes to deliver when it counts. People-Powered Greatness: You invest in your teammates. You give and receive feedback with care and candour. You build trust through high standards and shared success. Grow the Whole Pie: You seek out win win solutions for merchants, couriers, and our customers, because when they thrive, so do we. If these resonate, and you combine strong technical fundamentals with entrepreneurial drive, let's connect. Relay is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and fostering a workplace where everyone thrives.

SUMMARY You'll join North Highland's Energy & Utilities (E&U) practice, working with our UK water utility clients across the South of England analysing and shaping their multi-year transformation and change portfolios, delivered under managed service and consulting frameworks. The sector is delivering the biggest upgrades seen in a century - modernising assets, systems and ways of working to ensure essential water and waste services are provided. These portfolios are delivered against the backdrop of the AMP 8 regulatory period and include various delivery modes: Enterprise Programmes (core platform and technology replacement / modernisation, regulatory-driven programmes etc), Digital Delivery (Agile/hybrid programmes transforming customer journeys, operational decision-making, case management etc), Operational Change (targeted, "deploy and embed" initiatives affecting frontline populations), and Operating model change (people-led restructuring of how teams are organised, governed and held accountable). The portfolios span all core business units of water utilities - Water, Waste, Engineering, Asset Management, Supply Chains, Operations and Control Centres as well as enabling functions such as HR, Finance, Commercial and Procurement. YOU WILL: Lead requirements elicitation and definition through workshops (often multi-disciplinary), interviews, site visits, job shadowing and document analysis; translate outcomes into high-quality artefacts (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases and walkthroughs). Map current-state (AS-IS) and future-state (TO-BE) processes; identify gaps and cross-functional handoffs across value streams and client operations. Highlight constraints driven by regulation, safety and asset criticality, producing evidence-based documentation suitable for assurance and audit. Support operating model and workforce change analysis - roles and process impacts, decision rights, governance and handoffs so solutions land effectively across teams. Analyse data flows, data needs and core use cases; capture end-to-end customer and operational journey requirements to support service design, prioritisation and delivery readiness. Maintain end-to-end traceability from business objectives through requirements to delivered outcomes, managing changes through appropriate change control. Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Change and Ops to ensure requirements are understood, testable and deliverable, supporting UAT readiness and implementation cutover where needed. IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE: Proven Business Analyst experience in utilities/water, or other closely regulated operational environments (power, telecoms, infrastructure, transport, government, field-based or scientific operations). Strong experience supporting digital transformation and/or change portfolios with multiple workstreams, dependencies and governance. Process mapping and modelling, operating model design and process optimisation, and workforce change impact analysis (roles, skills, ways of working, training/readiness dependencies). Digital journey / service design experience (customer or colleague journeys, pain points, outcomes, prioritisation). Systems experience across EAM platforms (SAP PM, Maximo), GIS platforms, customer platforms (billing, CRM, CCAS) and analytics tooling; exposure to programmes such as ERP, CRM migration, GIS Utility Network Model, lab data systems or workforce management is a strong advantage. Excellent stakeholder engagement, confident facilitating workshops and communicating clearly at all levels; comfortable across Agile/Waterfall/hybrid delivery with tooling such as Jira/Confluence. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom, without the need for visa sponsorship by North Highland. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided, either now or in the future, for this position. This is a temporary employee (PAYE) opportunity working via an Umbrella company. North Highland is an equal opportunity employer, and we adhere to all applicable laws and regulations to ensure a fair and equitable workplace. You will work at the intersection of a deep technical engineering team and the agencies and mission operators who depend on this software in high-stakes, time-critical situations, where reliability is non-negotiable. As Karvel scales and evolves, you may be expected to build and lead a larger product team, shaping the product function within the business unit from the ground up. This position is open across our offices in Portugal, Germany, the US, and the UK. WHAT YOU'LL DO Product Strategy & Roadmap Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives and end-user needs. Discovery & User Research Establish continuous discovery practices with satellite engineering teams and operational users, combining qualitative research and product analytics to uncover latent needs and pain points. Benchmark against competitive and adjacent solutions across the flight software and space systems landscape. Delivery & Execution Partner closely with engineering leads to shape solutions, write clear specifications, prioritize the backlog and drive agile delivery ceremonies, ensuring teams have the context they need to make autonomous, high-quality decisions. Define and track product metrics (adoption, integration and qualification time, mission reliability outcomes, customer satisfaction). Data Architect - Canonical Data Modelling & EDM
G MASS
ace has been engaged by a leading UK-headquartered wealth and asset management firm to support a multi-year technology transformation programme. The organisation manages assets across discretionary wealth, Responsible Investment (RI), charity, and institutional mandates, and is undergoing significant change: custody outsourcing to a global custodian, consolidation of its data platform on Snowflake, and a strategic initiative to build enterprise data foundations that will underpin AI, analytics, and regulatory capability for the next five years. We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to define, evolve, and govern the canonical data models that will underpin the firm's investment, client, and operational data domains. This is a high-impact role focused on models that get implemented and adopted, not documentation only. The successful candidate will bridge modelling and engineering: translating logical models into implementation-ready artefacts consumed by Snowflake, downstream analytics, and integration layers. This role is critical to enabling the organisation to move from fragmented, siloed data to a coherent, governed enterprise data model that powers scalable growth. This is a full-time position for an initial 3-month contract, for a Q3 start date. Responsibilities Define, evolve, and govern enterprise canonical data models across the firm's core buy-side data domains: positions, valuations, transactions, orders, client/AUM data, reference data, ESG/RI data, and benchmarks. Model the investment lifecycle end-to-end: order generation, execution, allocation, settlement, corporate actions, performance attribution, and accounting impacts (IBOR/ABOR). Establish clear semantics, entity relationships, identifiers, lineage, and versioning across all canonical models. Define golden-source ownership for each data domain and document data lineage from source system to enterprise model to consumption layer. Standards & Industry Frameworks Apply and map relevant buy-side industry standards including ISO 20022, FIX protocol, SWIFT messaging, GIPS, and relevant regulatory reporting frameworks. Evaluate and apply Open Standards where applicable (e.g., FINOS CDM for buy-side, FinDaF data vocabulary) to accelerate canonical model development. Ensure ESG and Responsible Investment data structures meet evolving regulatory and client disclosure requirements (e.g., SFDR, TCFD, SDR). Data Domains & Integration Lead modelling for ingestion and harmonisation of: Investment data: positions, trades, allocations, corporate actions, valuations, performance. Client data: AUM, mandate structures, client hierarchies, fee agreements, suitability profiles. Market & reference data: pricing, benchmarks, security master, counterparties, identifiers (ISIN, SEDOL, LEI). ESG/RI data: ESG scores, engagement records, screening criteria, voting data, impact metrics. Operational data: reconciliations, exceptions, custody instructions, settlement status. Define data models to support the firm's custody outsourcing programme, including data exchange specifications with the global custodian. Partner with Snowflake engineering teams to ensure canonical models are correctly implemented as Snowflake schemas, including transformation logic, data quality rules, and access patterns. Stakeholder & Domain Collaboration Work across Investment Management, Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Distribution, Finance, and Compliance to ensure models support valuation inputs, performance reporting, client analytics, reconciliations, and regulatory submissions. Partner with the ESG/Responsible Investment team to model RI-specific data structures including company screening data, engagement history, proxy voting, and impact reporting. Act as a trusted authority and translator between business domain owners and technology engineering teams. Implementation & Engineering Bridge Translate logical models into implementation-ready artefacts: Snowflake DDL schemas, API contracts, event/topic models, validation rules, transformation specifications, and data quality rules. Provide architectural input into the target-state data platform and integration patterns (e.g., event-driven ingestion, Snowflake data vault / dimensional layers, API-first integration). Mentor engineers and analysts on model adoption, ensuring implementation fidelity across consuming applications. Governance & Standards Establish model governance practices: naming conventions, business glossary, metadata standards, stewardship model, change control, documentation, and versioning. Define and embed data quality rules and validation frameworks as part of the canonical model rollout. Contribute to the firm's broader data governance programme, including alignment with the data ownership and stewardship model being established across the organisation. Proven data modelling experience in buy-side asset management, wealth management, or investment operations - ideally at a tier-one asset manager, custodian, or leading FinTech serving the buy side. Strong front-to-back understanding of the investment lifecycle: order management, execution, allocation, settlement, custody, corporate actions, and performance/attribution. Deep expertise in buy-side data domains: positions/valuations, client/AUM, market/reference data, and investment accounting (IBOR/ABOR). Strong modelling fundamentals: entity/event modelling, lifecycle and state transitions, golden-source identification, schema versioning, lineage, and reference data management. Hands-on experience implementing models into a cloud data platform (preferably Snowflake); comfortable producing DDL, transformation specifications, and data quality rules. Experience working with MS Access databases and Charles River systems preferable. Background bridging modelling and engineering - able to work directly with engineering teams and validate implementation fidelity, ideally with a development background (Python, SQL, Java, or equivalent). Demonstrable experience of data governance: business glossary, metadata management, stewardship frameworks, and change control. Desirable Familiarity with ESG/Responsible Investment data structures and emerging regulatory frameworks (SFDR, TCFD, UK SDR, ISSB). Experience with data exchange in custody or outsourcing contexts, including SWIFT messaging or ISO 20022-based interfaces. Data or solution architecture experience: target-state modelling, integration patterns, event-driven design, canonical semantic layers. Exposure to AI/ML data requirements and the data modelling implications of analytics and LLM-enabled use cases in asset management. Certifications: DAMA/CDMP, TOGAF, or cloud data certifications (Snowflake SnowPro, Azure/AWS/GCP equivalents). Experience with streaming and event-driven ecosystems (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs) for real-time data ingestion patterns. Prior FTC or advisory engagement experience; comfortable with a focused, outcome-driven engagement model. Salary: Competitive Salary Length: Initial 3-month contract

Senior Data Engineer: Finance
Zilch
Zilch is a payment tech company on a mission to create the most empowering way to pay for anything, anywhere. Combining the best of debit, credit and savings, we give our customers the option to earn instant cashback or spread the cost of pricier purchases, completely interest free and with no late fees. Pretty great, right? We started in 2018 with a small team and a big dream - to make credit accessible to all. Since then, we've achieved double unicorn status and taken on more than 5 million customers. There are some exciting projects coming up and we've got big growth plans. Want to join us? About the role We are looking for a Senior Finance Data Analyst to join our Finance Data team. This is a technically deep role that sits at the boundary of data engineering and finance analytics - ideal for someone who is as comfortable building robust data models and pipelines, understands financial logic and is happy to work with finance stakeholders. You'll bring advanced SQL skills, strong data modelling instincts, and the ability to build scalable, well structured data infrastructure that finance teams can rely on. Finance domain knowledge is important, but your primary strength is data - you think in schemas, pipelines, and systems as much as in metrics and reports. If you thrive on solving complex data problems, care deeply about data quality and structure, and want to work in a fast paced team where your technical contributions directly shape how the business understands its finances - we'd love to hear from you. Day to day responsibilities Data modelling & pipeline ownership: Design, build, and maintain robust data models and transformation pipelines in dbt or equivalent tooling, ensuring finance data is structured, reliable, and scalable across the warehouse. Finance analytics: Translate complex financial logic into clean, well documented SQL and data models that finance teams can rely on for reporting and decision making. Data quality & controls: Implement and maintain data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and monitoring across critical finance data pipelines, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they reach downstream consumers. Metric governance: Define and govern core finance KPIs and metrics, ensuring a single source of truth across the business and clear documentation of definitions, logic, and ownership. Cross functional collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Analytics Engineering, and Product teams to ensure finance data requirements are embedded in data infrastructure from the start, and that outputs are fit for purpose across all downstream uses. Automation & process improvement: Identify and automate manual finance data processes, improving reliability and scalability while reducing operational burden on the team. What we're looking for SQL native - complex queries, window functions, performance tuning is where you feel at home. You care about correctness. Finance data has to be right - you build with that standard in mind from the start. You're curious about the business. You want to understand what the numbers mean, not just how to query them - and you're comfortable picking up finance context as you go. You take ownership. You don't wait to be asked - you spot a problem in a pipeline and you fix it. You communicate clearly. You can explain a complex query to a finance stakeholder and a financial concept to a data engineer. SQL expertise: Advanced SQL is non negotiable - you write complex queries fluently and understand performance, indexing, and warehouse specific behaviour (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift). Data modelling: Strong grasp of data modelling concepts and hands on experience building models in dbt or a comparable transformation framework. Data quality mindset: Experience building and maintaining data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and monitoring in a production environment. Experience: 3-5+ years in a data analyst, analytics engineer, or finance data role, ideally within financial services or fintech. Stakeholder management: Comfortable working directly with finance stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical specifications and communicating data concepts clearly to non technical audiences. Understanding of financial reporting concepts sufficient to implement finance logic accurately and challenge requirements constructively. Database and data modelling experience - dimensional modelling, dbt, or a comparable transformation framework - is a strong advantage and an area we'd invest in developing. Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or equivalent. Python or another scripting language for data manipulation and automation. Background in consumer lending, payments, or embedded finance products. Experience working in an Analytics Engineering or hybrid analyst/engineer capacity. Benefits Income Protection Permanent employees enjoy access to our Share Options Scheme 5% back on in app purchases £200 for WFH setup Private medical insurance including GP consultations (video, telephone or face to face), prescribed medication, in patient, day patient and out patient care, mental health support, physiotherapy, advanced cancer cover Employee Assistance Programme including unlimited mental health sessions, 24/7 remote GP & physiotherapy, 24/7 helpline for emotional & practical support Savings & discounts on everyday shopping 1:1 personalised well being consultations Family Friendly Policies Enhanced maternity pay Enhanced paternity pay Enhanced adoption pay Enhanced shared parental leave Learning & Development Professional qualifications Professional memberships Learning suite for e courses Internal training programmes FCA & regulatory training Work arrangements Hybrid working: office based Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday; remote working Tuesday and Friday. Casual dress code. Workplace socials.
