Business Analyst
Salary: up to £65,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic hybrid working: 2 3 days per week on site.
Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national required. HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks will be undertaken after offer, managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
Responsibilities
- Lead research and analysis to understand, synthesize and interpret the latest developments within the political, industrial and supply chain environment in which MBDA UK operates.
- Shape actions and recommendations for defined topic areas, delivering agreed changes that align with MBDA's future positioning.
- Produce concise, well written papers that position, support or argue against Government Industrial Policy developments.
- Direct and undertake detailed analysis on complex topics to identify patterns and trends, drawing conclusions and outlining implications for the company and the wider defence ecosystem.
- Apply academic rigor to test certainty and understanding, starting with the question rather than an answer and balancing multiple data sources to identify where to look next.
- Think on your feet, using measured, well reasoned arguments to position MBDA's thinking in industry and government forums, demonstrating thought leadership.
- Act as a change agent to stimulate thinking, challenge entrenched views, and foster proactive collaborative working across business areas at senior level.
Qualifications
- Strategic thinker capable of translating complex information into digestible insights.
- Recent knowledge and experience of the defence environment with ability to share perspectives with MBDA.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; financial familiarity and sensitivity to financial issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to write at White Paper level.
- Open mind and willingness to learn and consider alternative ideas.
