Role Profile

Our client seeks an experienced Senior Tester & Business Analyst to join their IT Department. This hybrid role combines strong analytical capability with hands on testing expertise to ensure end to end delivery of high quality business and technical solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate across business, technical, regulatory, and delivery teams, helping shape requirements, validate designs, and ensure systems and processes meet both programme objectives and industry obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing & Quality Assurance:
  • Lead end to end test strategies for system, integration, migration, and operational readiness.
  • Prepare detailed test plans, scripts, and traceability matrices linked to core requirements.
  • Execute system, integration, UAT, and regression testing across multiple systems including utility billing, device management, and integrated platforms.
  • Identify, document, and prioritise defects, lead triage to ensure timely resolution.
  • Validate results and provide data driven go/no go recommendations for deployments and rollout phases.
  • Act as the primary bridge between business units, developers, and third party suppliers.
  • Business Analyst & Process Design
  • Facilitate workshops with operational teams, network operators, and technical stakeholders.
  • Map business processes, identifying risks, gaps, and improvements impacted by rollouts.
  • Perform detailed assessments on proposed system or process changes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions to ensure value driven outcomes.
  • Produce user guides, onboarding materials, and process notes to support change management and user adoption.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Certifications: Prince2 Practitioner and/or MSP Qualification - Desirable
  • Recognised Business Analyst qualification or equivalent - Essential
  • 3+ Years in a similar role
  • Significant experience in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong background as a Senior Tester or BA on complex technology change programmes; utility industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in systems and integration testing within multi system environments and experience with modern testing platforms such as automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright), API testing (Postman), and defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience supporting operational readiness and creating structured test artefacts and process maps.
  • Ability to use analysis tools such as SQL for data extraction, Excel for quantitative modelling, and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau for visualization.
