# Founding Platform/Backend LeadLead backend engineering for the EvaEsi platform through launch and as the engineering team grows.All open rolesApplyAbout the role What this role does.EvaEsi is a whole new model line, built on the research from Forlais. It is a significant launch, and you can help shape it.The platform is already built and working. We need someone senior to take responsibility for quality, performance and reliability, and to lead the engineers who join as the team grows.What we look for Qualifications. Deep backend experience in Rust, or in systems languages with real production Rust exposure. Experience running a production service end to end: data model, correctness, performance, deployment and incidents. Enjoy making a working system properly solid. Bring an open mind and genuine readiness for a learning curve. Are results oriented and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes. Are willing to adapt and try new ideas.Bonus Nice to have. Rust web services, Postgres and Redis. Payments, identity or other correctness-critical domains. Scaling production systems. Observability, load testing and incident response.Process How the process runs.Each application is reviewed directly. Expect one or more conversations covering judgement, technical or craft depth, and the responsibility the role carries.
