Role Overview
As a Technical Lead in Java, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring engineering teams, overseeing end-to-end software delivery, and ensuring technical excellence. You will work closely with stakeholders, contribute to architecture decisions, and champion best practices to accelerate project success and technology innovation.
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Java development with a proven track record of leadership
- Ability to manage offshore and geographically distributed teams effectively
- Strong background in full-stack or platform engineering
- Experience owning the complete software delivery lifecycle
- Knowledge of working within Capital Markets environments
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and cloud-native technologies
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor development teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Oversee the entire software delivery lifecycle from conception to deployment
- Manage offshore teams, ensuring clear communication and team capability development

Requirements
- Valid right to work in the UK and on-site availability in London
- Extensive Java software development experience (10+ years) with leadership (5+ years)
- Proven experience managing offshore/distributed teams
- Strong background in full-stack or platform engineering
- Familiarity with Capital Markets or related financial environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Candidates with previous VP Engineering experience, exposure to scale-up or high-growth environments, or knowledge of AI/ML integrations are desirable but not mandatory.
