What You'll Do:
Under the guidance and mentorship of senior IT colleagues, the Junior Developer will support the development, testing, maintenance and improvement of Thirtyone:eight's internal applications, public-facing websites and cloud-based systems.
This role is designed to help an early-career developer apply and grow their computing knowledge in a practical setting, gaining experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure, APIs, testing, documentation and secure software development while contributing to high-quality digital services that support the organisation's safeguarding mission.

Main Responsibilities
- Support the development, testing, maintenance and improvement of Thirtyone:eight's internal applications, gaining practical experience of the full software development lifecycle.
- Assist with the development, testing, maintenance and content support of Thirtyone:eight's public-facing websites, helping to ensure they remain accessible, reliable, secure and user-focused.
- Provide first-line technical investigation and support for application-related queries from staff and external customers, escalating more complex issues where appropriate.
- Support the monitoring and maintenance of cloud-hosted systems and related infrastructure, developing practical knowledge of Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and associated services.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, user guidance and training materials to support colleagues in using applications and digital tools effectively.
Specific Responsibilities
- Support the configuration, development, testing and maintenance of Thirtyone:eight's Dynamics 365 environment, helping to ensure systems remain reliable, secure and aligned with business needs.
- Assist with the development, testing, maintenance and content support of Thirtyone:eight's website, helping to improve usability, accessibility, availability and security.
- Review, update and improve technical documentation for Dynamics 365 business processes, Power Automate flows, business rules, integrations and related configuration.
- Assist with gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements for future Dynamics 365, Power Platform and website enhancements.
- Support the day-to-day use and improvement of the IT ticketing system, including investigating issues, documenting solutions and helping to enhance workflows and reporting.
- Assist with month-end processes for billing, renewals and reminders, helping to monitor system outputs, identify issues and support timely resolution.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of future application architecture, integrations and interfaces, working under the guidance of senior IT colleagues.
- Contribute to test planning, test execution and quality assurance for application changes, and participate in code, configuration or design reviews where appropriate.
- Support the monitoring and administration of cloud services including Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Cloudflare, escalating risks or issues where required.
- Work collaboratively with the IT Department, colleagues across the organisation and relevant suppliers to deliver effective digital services and learn from experienced technical colleagues.
- Undertake routine Microsoft 365 administration tasks for user and access changes, following agreed procedures and liaising with third parties for more complex activities.

Relevant experience of software development, testing, systems support or digital projects gained through academic study, placement, internship, apprenticeship, employment, volunteering or personal projects. This may include experience of programming, low-code development, databases, APIs, web technologies, troubleshooting, documentation or user support.
- Understanding of software development principles gained through academic study, practical projects or relevant experience.
- Awareness of databases, APIs, web technologies and integration tools, with enthusiasm for developing practical skills in these areas.
- Awareness of software testing, quality assurance and secure development practices.
