We are seeking an experienced Data Science consultant to join our Digital & Data team. The role involves advanced analytics and machine learning to support data centric decision making in public and private sector organisations.
Responsibilities
- Work to agile best practices and collaborate cross functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders, applying technical skills to problem solve with clients and internal projects.
- Conduct whiteboard sessions and use asynchronous communication on Teams.
- Work on client sites or in our office, with hybrid work plan of at least two days per week.
- Use tools such as Data Bricks, Python, PySpark, R, Excel, Palantir Foundry and PowerBI to deliver scalable, high performance applications.
Qualifications
Essential requirements
- A degree, Masters or PhD in data science, mathematics, operational research, physics, or statistics.
- Experience conducting analysis for evidence based decision making, designing and developing models and supporting data centric decision making.
- Experience translating business needs into analytical approaches and communicating findings to technical and non technical audiences.
- Experience across the full analytics and modelling lifecycle - problem formulation, exploratory data analysis, model design, build, testing and handover.
- Experience with Python, SQL, Excel and data visualisation tools.
- Experience leading and delivering solutions covering advanced analytics, algorithm design, operational research models, data engineering, big data/cloud platforms, or visualisation/dashboards.
- Problem solving mindset and strong curiosity.
Nice to have
- Excellent stakeholder, project management and communication skills; consulting and advisory experience.
- Experience managing analytical solutions through product development lifecycle.
- Experience developing data and behavioural science propositions for client presentations.
Some UK roles require a UK security clearance. All employees must undergo background checks and meet residency requirements (British citizen or 5 years continuous residency in the UK).
Assessment Process

- Round 1 - competency or technical interview (60 min).
- Round 2 - competency or technical interview (60 min).
- Final round - meeting with a PA leader, a mini case study and discussion around client centricity (60 min).
