IT Infrastructure & Security Manager
Location: Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK16 9EZ.
This hybrid role balances 3 days in office with 2 days remote. Candidates must live within a commutable distance.

What your role will look like
IT Infrastructure & Security Manager will drive our IT infrastructure and security excellence, leading an internal team of engineers, managing BAU, projects and key service providers.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a small team of IT infrastructure engineers.
- Deliver infrastructure projects on agreed timelines.
- Develop and support best of class IT infrastructure and security technologies across the business.
- Act as senior IT escalation point, partnering with business stakeholders and translating technical issues into non technical terms.
- Own the enterprise architecture - LAN, WAN, WLAN, cloud, domain services, servers, hosting, security solutions and end user computing.
- Monitor and manage end to end lifecycles of IT infrastructure, driving continuous improvement and supporting implementation projects.
- Govern event management and observability, driving proactive service availability.
- Govern change and release management for infrastructure, ensuring risk is assessed and controlled.
- Manage risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring technology operates within control frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Drive a security by design approach, ensuring cyber security is at the forefront of everything we do.
- Represent IT infrastructure and cyber security in the IT Technical Design Authority, participating in forums and review activities.
- Support business continuity - test DR/BCP plans, validate recovery and perform evidence based failover and restore testing.
- Manage key third party and managed service providers, ensuring operational, financial and contractual performance.
- Work with the IT Service Delivery Manager to identify and drive service improvement initiatives.
- Own the infrastructure operating budget with support from Head of IT Operations.
- Collaborate closely with Group IT, aligning strategies, projects and initiatives.
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
- 5+ years in infrastructure and/or network management.
- Proven experience managing enterprise IT solutions.
- Expertise in WAN/LAN/WLAN, cloud, identity and access management, servers, hosting/virtualisation, and end user computing.
- Experience working to ITIL best practices.
- Experience in people leadership and performance management.
- Experience managing complex IT infrastructure and enterprise architecture in a multi site retail, hospitality or FMCG environment.
- Broad cybersecurity technical expertise - NGFW, WAF, ZTNA, CASB, SIEM, EDR, XDR.
- Strong understanding of cyber security principles, control frameworks and regulatory compliance (NIST, ISO27001, GDPR). CE+ certifications are desirable.
- Experience managing third party suppliers, partners and critical managed service providers, including contract and performance management.
- Experience managing large operational budgets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, business partnering and influencing skills, able to translate complex concepts to all levels.
