Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering, with exposure to live production environments.
- Practical end to end experience across planning, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
- Experience designing, building, and supporting secure, scalable, and reliable AWS based solutions in production.
- Hands on experience with infrastructure as code, automation, and CI/CD processes in enterprise or product environments.
- Experience working with containerised applications and supporting deployments across non production and production environments.
- Good understanding of networking, security, identity and access management, backup and recovery, and operational best practices in cloud environments.
- Practical experience in AWS cost management, including identifying optimisation opportunities, improving resource utilisation, and supporting cost conscious infrastructure decisions.
- A practical and collaborative approach, with willingness to contribute to planning, implementation, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and cost optimisation activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, design, implementation, and ongoing support of cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions.
- Build, maintain, and improve secure, scalable, and reliable AWS platforms that support business critical applications.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, efficient, and reliable software delivery.
- Work with engineering, architecture, security, and support teams to help ensure solutions are practical, supportable, and production ready.
- Support infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automation initiatives to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
- Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and assist with incident resolution and root cause analysis for production environments.
- Help implement logging, alerting, and observability capabilities to improve reliability, visibility, and operational response.
- Support cloud security, patching, backup, recovery, and access control activities in line with operational standards.
- Assist with environment planning, performance tuning, and cost optimisation across cloud services and workloads.
- Analyse AWS usage and spending patterns help identify cost saving opportunities, and support implementation of cost management best practices such as rightsizing, scheduling, tagging, and resource optimisation.
- Take a hands on approach to delivery, working across planning and implementation while contributing to continuous platform improvement.
Key Skills Required
- Hands on experience with AWS services across compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring, and platform operations, such as EC2, ECS, EKS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, RDS, and S3.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules and environment configuration.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and deployment automation using platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Circle CI or similar tools.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools to support operational reliability and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cloud security, secrets management, patching, access control, and operational governance.
- Experience with AWS cost management and optimisation, including cost analysis, resource rightsizing, tagging practices, usage reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
- Familiarity with AWS cost and billing tools such as Cost Explorer, Budgets, tagging strategies, and FinOps oriented cost governance practices.
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, with experience supporting performance tuning and performance improvements in production environments.
- Strong problem solving skills and a practical approach to troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment, and cost efficiency issues.
Desired Skills
- Exposure to Sumo Logic to support log analysis, operational visibility, issue investigation, and service reliability.
- Awareness of AI deployment within infrastructure environments, including scalable platform provisioning, model hosting considerations, automation, and operational readiness.

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional

- Terraform Associate.
- Kubernetes, DevOps, or cloud security certifications.
