Solution Architect - Permanent position at NIIT Technologies, located in Crawley, England.

• Assess business opportunities and recommend the best solutions to meet requirements.
• Create reliable project cost estimates for capital and operational expenditure.
• Provide advice on technical aspects of system design and integration, ensuring relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices are applied correctly.
• Document project technical solutions with a Solution Architecture Document and secure stakeholder buy in.
• Engage with enterprise, information, and software architects to confirm solution consistency with long term architecture, roadmaps, and information principles.
• Work with designers to ensure estimates are accurate and the solution can be implemented effectively.
• Create high level diagrams describing the solution and use tools such as logical models of components and interfaces.
• Participate in project architecture governance reviews when required.
• Support projects after approval during their delivery phase.
• Create cost effective solutions that meet business needs and prepare technical plans that address high level project technical issues.
• Maintain clear, concise documentation and ensure architectural risks are identified and managed.
• Apply technology and process improvements to enhance business efficiency.

• At least 3 years of experience in application architecture or solution design, involving multiple interacting applications or back end services.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Java designer, with knowledge of Java and Spring design principles.
• Experience with effective design patterns, web service/API integration, and multi tier, service oriented application development.
• Broad exposure to current technologies and architectures, and good IT solution design practices to maintain PCI compliant architecture.
• Experience with Visio (or similar) for creating effective diagrams.
• Experience in the airline, travel, or loyalty industries is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to non technical business stakeholders.
• Personable, collaborative, and able to work constructively with a wide range of people.
• Independent thinker who articulates viewpoints clearly and accepts alternative views when appropriate.
