Synergize Consulting is working with our client who are supporting a major UK Government programme and is seeking several experienced ServiceNow Platform Architect to play a key role in the design, governance, and evolution of a secure enterprise ServiceNow environment.

This is an opportunity to work on large-scale digital transformation initiatives, helping to define and deliver the ServiceNow platform strategy across a complex and highly regulated environment. You'll work at the forefront of platform innovation, driving architecture best practice, automation, and service excellence across critical business services.

The Opportunity

As a ServiceNow Platform Architect, you will be responsible for the overall design, architecture, and technical governance of the ServiceNow platform. Working closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, product owners, and development teams, you will ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to both business objectives and platform best practices.

A key focus of the role will be supporting and enhancing IT Operations Management (ITOM) capabilities, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB strategy, while helping shape the future roadmap of the ServiceNow platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the ServiceNow platform architecture and roadmap
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural governance across ServiceNow initiatives
  • Design scalable and secure ServiceNow solutions aligned with business and operational requirements
  • Lead the architecture of ITOM capabilities including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and technical teams to ensure integration with wider technology ecosystems
  • Establish and promote ServiceNow development standards, best practices, and governance
  • Review and approve solution designs produced by development teams
  • Support platform upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance to developers, administrators, and project teams
  • Produce and maintain architectural documentation and technical standards

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Architect or Senior ServiceNow Technical Lead
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and capabilities
  • Extensive experience across ServiceNow ITOM and ITSM modules
  • Strong knowledge of Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB, and platform integrations
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions
  • Strong understanding of platform governance, security, and best practices
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party systems and enterprise tooling
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - ITOM
  • Experience delivering large-scale ServiceNow transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of ITIL and service management frameworks
  • Experience working within highly regulated and secure environments

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of this programme:

  • Candidates must hold current SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance
  • Successful candidates will be required to satisfy all Government security vetting requirements
