Responsibilities
  • We will expect you to support our Data & Performance team in collecting, analysing, and maintaining data for the Smart Metering Programme.
  • We will ask you to assist in collecting and validating data from field teams, subcontractors, and internal systems.
  • We will rely on you to maintain accurate records relating to meter installations, replacements, aborts, and exceptions.
  • We will need you to support reconciliation of operational data with planning, commercial reporting, and client requirements.
  • We will expect you to identify data inconsistencies and work with relevant teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • We will ask you to support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports.
  • We will need you to assist in building dashboards and visuals using Excel and/or Power BI.
  • We will expect you to monitor programme trends such as productivity, success rates, compliance, and turnaround times.
  • We will ask you to help prepare information for internal reviews, client meetings, and commercial submissions.
  • We will need you to work with internal systems, apps, and databases used across the Smart Metering Programme.
  • We will expect you to develop data extraction skills.
  • We will ask you to assist with process improvements and automation of routine reporting tasks where possible.
  • We will need you to collaborate with Compliance teams to ensure all job records, photos, and evidence are captured and auditable.
  • We will expect you to support analysis of failed jobs, exceptions, and non-compliance trends.
  • We will ask you to work with operational teams to ensure accurate data is captured at source.
  • We will need you to engage with Delivery Managers, Supervisors, Planners, and Subcontractors regarding data accuracy.
  • We will expect you to support internal teams with ad hoc data requests or analysis tasks.
  • We will ask you to contribute to team meetings and share findings or insights when required.

We are recruiting a Trainee Data Analyst to join our Smart Metering Programme based in Brentwood, Essex. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, and is designed for someone at the start of their data career. You will join our Data & Performance team and gain structured learning and hands on experience across operational, commercial, compliance, planning, and reporting activities. We offer the opportunity to develop your analytical skills, learn tools such as SQL and Power BI, and contribute to accurate reporting and performance improvements that support programme delivery. You will work closely with our Compliance, Planning, Delivery, Commercial, and Subcontractor teams in a collaborative environment focused on data quality, insight, and operational excellence.
