Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year
Requirements
- We require proven experience delivering legislation registers and compliance reporting in a safety critical, highly regulated environment.
- We require SQEP equivalent experience at Senior Safety & Reliability Engineer level, with strong working knowledge of relevant UK HSE, environmental, and engineering regulatory frameworks.
- We require the ability to interpret legislation, assess impact, produce evidence based reports and recommendations, and manage stakeholders with minimal supervision.
- We require strong MS Office skills and confidence maintaining registers and evidence packs.
- We require sole UK nationality.
- We require Active SC Clearance, or at minimum SC eligibility.
- We would prefer CEng or IEng status, or a relevant degree, and professional membership such as IOSH, IET, or BCS.
- We would prefer defence maritime or submarine support experience and familiarity with MoD interfaces and governance.
- We would prefer experience using Lexis Library, SIMPLIFi, or similar tools, and reviewing ALARP based safety and environmental documentation.
Responsibilities
- We will maintain and update the legislation register for applicable UK legal and regulatory requirements using agreed tools.
- We will produce the annual Legislation Compliance Report, including the review and update cycle and environmental considerations.
- We will complete up to three areas of concern deep dives per year and integrate findings and recommendations.
- We will provide SME advice on compliance queries, assess impacts, and support closure of actions.
- We will support governance meetings and provide brief progress updates and inputs as required.
- We will maintain audit trails and records, follow QMS requirements, and use agreed communication routes for technical and commercial matters.
- We will support briefings, training materials, knowledge transfer, and lessons learned activity as needed.

We are offering a contract role running until 30/09/2027, with remote working and periodic on site requirements at Clyde and other sites as needed. This role supports our DP3 Shore Systems Integrator legislation compliance work within a safety critical, highly regulated defence environment. We work with technical and commercial contacts, governance forums, site stakeholders, MoD and policy/process owners, and safety, environmental, engineering, and assurance SMEs. We review all profiles against the required skills and experience and will respond to successful applicants in the first instance.
