Snowflake Data Architect - Wembley

Salary: £90,000 - 95,000 per year

• We require 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or a related field.
• We require at least 4 years of hands on experience designing and implementing solutions within Snowflake.
• We require demonstrated success delivering enterprise scale data transformation programmes and modernising legacy data environments.
• We require deep expertise in Data Vault 2.0, Kimball dimensional modelling, and Inmon methodologies, with the ability to select the right approach for different business needs.
• We require advanced knowledge of dbt and Git based development practices.
• We require strong experience designing cloud based data solutions, including integrations across AWS and Azure environments.
• We require a proven track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines and promoting software engineering best practices within data teams.
• We require experience defining data governance, security frameworks, and quality standards across enterprise platforms.
• We prefer experience with Kestra or similar modern orchestration platforms.
• We prefer knowledge of Snowflake Native Apps, Snowpark, and emerging AI/ML capabilities within modern data platforms.
• We prefer exposure to vector databases, embeddings, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and AI ready data architectures.
• We prefer experience in retail, wholesale, supply chain, or large scale transactional data environments.

• We define and own enterprise wide data modelling standards, including Data Vault, semantic layers, Star Schema patterns, Snowflake object hierarchies, and governance frameworks.
• We design scalable integration architectures for legacy platforms, including AS400, iSeries, and SQL based systems, ensuring robust reconciliation, auditability, and incremental data loading capabilities.
• We architect modern data pipelines leveraging Snowflake and orchestration technologies, ensuring reliability, scalability, idempotency, and effective error handling.
• We establish and govern security models across the data platform, including role based access control (RBAC), dynamic masking, row level security, and environment segregation.
• We drive platform performance optimisation and cost management within Snowflake, identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable warehouse, clustering, and workload management strategies.
• We design data architectures that support AI and GenAI use cases, including vector search capabilities, embedding pipelines, and semantic data structures.
• We collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and stakeholders to define data contracts and implement automated data quality frameworks.
• We champion Data as Code principles, helping establish CI/CD best practices and engineering standards across the organisation.
• We provide architectural leadership, mentoring engineering teams and translating complex technical concepts into practical guidance.

We are hiring a Snowflake Data Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our modern enterprise data platform. This is a fully on site role based in Wembley, London, with a salary of up to £95,000 plus benefits. You will join a team focused on building trusted data products that support analytics, reporting, and emerging AI initiatives, while helping us establish strong engineering standards, governance, and best practices across the organisation.
