Requirements
- Previous experience as a Lead Developer, Senior Developer, or Development Manager
- Ability to balance coding responsibilities with people management
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
- A collaborative, pragmatic approach to improving processes
- Desire to build a high-performing engineering culture with predictable, high-quality delivery
- Understanding of the benefits and risks of adopting AI safely and effectively
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, SQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Turbolinks, ReactJS, NextJS, APIs, and AWS
Responsibilities
- Guide a talented engineering team and improve delivery flow
- Contribute directly to the development of new and existing products
- Collaborate with the CTO on architectural decisions and technical direction
- Improve the code review lifecycle and reduce bottlenecks
- Manage and mentor a small team of mid to senior developers
- Conduct regular coaching, 1:1 meetings, and performance reviews
- Ensure a balance between coding and management tasks in a hybrid role
