Requirements
- Active SC Clearance is essential
- Expert knowledge of DNS protocols, including recursion, caching, TCP/UDP, and zone transfers
- Strong experience with DNS platforms such as BIND, Windows DNS, Infoblox, and cloud DNS services
- Knowledge of DNS security, including DNSSEC and DDoS mitigation techniques
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, and Bash
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, and CloudFormation
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to work across technical teams
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable DNS architectures across enterprise and cloud platforms
- Manage and optimise DNS platforms, including BIND, Microsoft DNS, Infoblox, AWS Route 53, and Azure DNS
- Lead DNS strategy focused on scalability, high availability, and performance optimisation
- Oversee DNS migrations, upgrades, and transformations
- Implement and maintain DNS security measures, including DNSSEC, DDoS protection, and threat mitigation
- Monitor performance and availability, and ensure robust incident response processes
- Act as the escalation point for complex DNS and network issues and lead root cause analysis
- Drive automation using scripting and Infrastructure as Code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and best practices
