Requirements
- Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise DNS environments.
- Expert knowledge of DNS protocols, architecture, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as BIND, Microsoft DNS, Infoblox, AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, or Google Cloud DNS.
- Strong understanding of DNSSEC, DHCP, IPAM, and DNS security best practices.
- Solid networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within large, complex, or highly regulated environments.
- Cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure experience.
- Relevant networking, cloud, or infrastructure certifications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-scale DNS architectures across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Manage and optimise DNS services, including zones, delegations, and name resolution processes.
- Define standards, governance, and best practices for DNS services.
- Implement security controls including DNSSEC, threat protection, and DDoS mitigation.
- Lead DNS migrations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
- Monitor DNS performance, availability, and resilience, driving continuous improvements where required.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex DNS and network-related issues.
- Develop automation solutions using scripting and Infrastructure as Code technologies.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cyber security teams to deliver secure and reliable services.

We are seeking an experienced DNS Architect to join our growing infrastructure and cloud technology team in Wokingham on a hybrid basis, with 2 days working from home. This is a 4-month initial contract offering £559 per day inside IR35, and requires active SC clearance.
