Job Description

About Us

the company is a dynamic and innovative insurance provider specialising in telematics-based solutions for young drivers. Our mission is to empower young drivers with tools and incentives to build responsible driving practices, making the roads safer for everyone.

Position Overview

We're seeking a full stack developer who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that's always pushing boundaries.

This person will have complete, end-to-end ownership of projects. The ideal candidate has experience building products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages. The full stack developer will join team that uses new technology to simplify and automate business processes and to automate tasks that systems can do better than people

Data and AI sit at the heart of where MyFirst is heading. We're investing in smarter data integrations across our business, and we're actively exploring how AI can improve what we do on a day-to-day basis.

Current systems built in C# and Python - open to technologies including JAVA, Node.js, and someone willing to crosstrain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of our digital journey, including integrations with our insurer panel, OpenGI, and telematics partners
  • Own automation initiatives end-to-end - from identifying manual pinch points to designing and delivering the solution
  • Make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance speed with maintainability
  • Own our technical roadmap alongside the senior leadership team
  • Identify and address technical debt before it becomes a blocker
  • Evaluate and introduce tooling, frameworks, and approaches that improve delivery pace
  • Ensure we meet our obligations around data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven full stack development experience - you're comfortable across the whole delivery lifecycle, from database to UI
  • Strong backend and API skills: REST APIs, third-party integrations, data pipelines
  • Experience leading or mentoring developers, with a genuine interest in growing people
  • Hands on automation experience - workflow automation, process improvement, reducing manual effort through code
  • The ability to hold a technical conversation with a non technical stakeholder and translate business need into a practical build plan
  • Self starter mentality: you don't need a lot of process to get things done, and you're comfortable operating in a small team
