Job Purpose

The Delivery Lead is responsible for improving how engineering teams deliver software at scale. The role focuses on developer experience, productivity, tooling and cross team delivery alignment. It acts as the bridge between engineering, product and platform teams ensuring developers have the right tools, processes and support to deliver high quality software efficiently. This person drives flow of work, prioritisation, roadmap alignmentand delivery excellence across multiple teams, while influencing senior stakeholders and shaping long term engineering capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cross Team Delivery Leadership: Proven experience overseeing delivery across multiple teams (10 or more), ensuring alignment of priorities and seamless collaboration to deliver end to end outcomes.
  • Flow and Prioritization Optimization: Deep expertise in improving work intake, prioritization and flow of work across teams, identifying bottlenecks and restructuring work distribution to ensure efficiency.
  • Strategic Roadmap Collaboration: Strong ability to partner with product leadership to co create overarching product roadmaps, ensuring alignment between business goals and delivery capability.
  • Stakeholder Alignment and Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to communicate delivery progress and challenges at a strategic level, ensuring transparency and alignment across departments.
  • Delivery Excellence at Scale: A track record of leading delivery transformations, knowing what "good" looks like across multiple teams, assessing team structures (system vs. cross functional) and implementing changes that drive high impact delivery.
Skills & Experience
  • Agile Delivery Expertise: Demonstrated experience leading teams and programmes using Agile methodologies, with a deep understanding of how to apply Agile principles at scale.
  • Cross Team Delivery Leadership: Proven ability to oversee delivery across 10+ teams, ensuring aligned priorities and smooth collaboration.
  • Delivery Excellence at Scale: Skilled at assessing team structures, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements that elevate delivery performance.
  • Transformation Leadership: Experience leading engineering or delivery transformations and embedding modern, best practice frameworks.
  • Developer Productivity Enablement: Deep understanding of what developers need to work efficiently, including tooling, automation, documentation, and workflow optimisation.
  • Technical Enablement: Strong familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, platform engineering, and developer tooling ecosystems.
  • Flow Optimisation: Ability to diagnose bottlenecks, improve work intake, streamline prioritisation, and optimise flow across multiple teams.
  • Strategic Roadmap Collaboration: Proven experience partnering with product leadership to co create roadmaps aligned to business goals and delivery capacity.
  • Portfolio Level Prioritisation: Ability to balance competing priorities across teams and functions while maintaining strategic alignment.
  • Senior Stakeholder Influence: Strong communication and alignment skills, able to engage senior leaders and provide clear, strategic delivery updates.
  • Risk, Dependency & Metrics Management: Skilled at identifying risks early, managing dependencies, and using data to drive continuous improvement.
