Do you want to work for a caring organisation that believes in people?
Do you want to make a difference?
As a Recovery Coordinator - Housing Exploitation (cuckooing) supporting the SWITCH homelessness prevention workstream, you will work with individuals within local communities who have been identified through the Multi-Agency Cuckooing Assessment Panel (MACAP) process. Your primary aim will be to achieve positive outcomes for those experiencing cuckooing and exploitation, particularly individuals who may be at risk of losing stable housing and require treatment services.
You will provide support to victims of cuckooing, many of whom may have experienced trauma, substance misuse, and other barriers that impact their ability to sustain accommodation and engage with treatment services.
A significant aspect of the role will involve supporting individuals to rebuild their lives and strengthen their support networks. This may also include assisting them in accessing financial support through personalisation funds to help maintain stable housing.
You will deliver sensitive, one-to-one interventions and develop recovery and safety plans for service users affected by cuckooing. It is essential to recognise that many individuals will have experienced trauma and may be affected by substance misuse, requiring a flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to support.
In addition, you will work collaboratively with partner agencies including the police, probation services, local authorities, and housing providers as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT). You will also play a key role within the MACAP process.
