Job Description

Market-leading EdTech SAAS business is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join their team. Working remotely (going to either the Nottingham or Bristol office 5 times per month), you'll be part of an experienced and supportive agile team working across 2 very successful products used by over 50 UK higher education establishments.

What skills you'll be needing
  • Strong Linux Sysadmin skills (particularly Ubuntu / Debian flavours).
  • Automated Provisioning (Ansible).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and security practices.
  • Solid scripting skills (bash / python / php / powershell / ruby).
  • Version control: Git / Github.
  • Experience as a Linux Sysadmin, DevOps Engineer or related software engineering role.
  • Experience of technical documentation writing.
  • Experience monitoring SaaS systems running in the cloud.
  • Wide knowledge of operating system administration, programming languages, cloud platform deployment and networking.
What you'll be doing

They're looking for someone with a strong experience in Linux systems administration and support. They need someone who can handle on call incident response and management alongside day to day monitoring and infrastructure planning, testing and development. You will be familiar with modern frameworks and be responsible for deploying, automating, maintaining and improving the running of backend infrastructure. You'll be responsible for providing centralised, end to end management of the SaaS platform, security, and operations. You'll also be responsible for building, maintaining and documenting internal tools used by the development and implementation teams.
