- Provide architectural solutions for scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure platforms.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, CMDB, and configuration management practices.
- Capacity Planning & Management
- Perform capacity forecasting for compute, storage, and network resources.
- Analyze trends for CPU, memory, storage, IO, and network utilisation.
- Recommend and implement capacity optimisation strategies.
- Collaborate with application, database, and infra teams for growth planning.
- Performance Engineering & Optimization
- Lead performance analysis and tuning across AIX/Linux/Windows and VMware environments.
- Identify bottlenecks across CPU, memory, disk IO, and network throughput.
- Optimize workloads using monitoring and alerting platforms.
- Drive proactive performance improvement initiatives.
- Compute Platform Leadership (AIX / Windows / VMware)
- Oversee AIX (POWER, LPAR, PowerVC) environments, Windows Server & Active Directory, VMware infrastructure lifecycle (ESXi, vCenter, clusters).
- Support activities including OS monitoring, patching, lifecycle management, VM provisioning, decommissioning, and performance tuning.
- Storage & Backup Architecture
- Design and manage SAN/NAS storage environments.
- Optimize storage performance (IOPS, throughput, latency).
- Lead backup/recovery strategy and align with disaster recovery.
- Work with tools such as Spectrum Protect and other enterprise backup solutions.
- Network Architecture & Integration
- Define and review data center networking, routing and switching, and connectivity between compute, storage, and application layers.
- Work closely with network architects for performance troubleshooting.
- Ensure the network supports scalability and high availability requirements.
- Monitoring, Automation & Reliability
- Implement and enhance monitoring solutions for infrastructure health, alerts and performance.
- Drive automation for provisioning, capacity reporting, and performance tuning.
- Improve observability across the infrastructure stack.
- Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Lead resolution of complex L2/L3 infrastructure issues.
- Drive root cause analysis for recurring performance issues.
- Operate within ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability
