Primary Responsibilities
  • Have recent experience working on diverse and complex social infrastructure projects (including health, education and science/technology) and/or data centre projects.
  • Lead the planning and detailing of architectural projects through all stages of design, under the supervision of a Project Lead/Project Manager.Support the development and maintenance of project documentation, including drawings, specifications and reports.
  • Facilitate and lead owners/clients, internal and stakeholder meetings, and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project life cycle, from development and initiation to close out, under supervision of a Project Manager.
  • Have good working knowledge and experience within the UK planning and building regulations systems.
  • Ensure work complies with relevant codes, standards and regulations (i.e., UK Building Regulations, Standards and Healthcare Guidance).
  • Participate in QA/QC and technical reviews.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors in the UK and Europe.
Required Qualifications
  • Registered Architect - ARB.
  • Minimum 3 5 years practical and industry experience in the UK (social infrastructure projects and/or data centre projects).
  • Passion for creativity and design.
  • Excellent collaboration, self organisation and team working skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective facilitation with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge and experience applying relevant codes, standards and regulations in design and planning.
  • Ability to multi task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of design software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office.
  • Understanding of computational and parametric design.
  • Graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee owned culture.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • Understanding and experience of various building contracts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills.
  • 3+ years' experience working with Data Centre projects is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, 3 D Studio Max.
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design.
