Compensation: Up to £240,000 + Bonus + Package

Location: London (Hybrid 3-5 days on-site)

Overview

My leading Hedge Fund client is looking for a talented, motivated, and hands-on technology leader to serve as the vital link between Investment Professionals and Technology solutions. This is a high-profile role where you can truly make your mark within the company, operating at the intersection of high-finance and cutting-edge tactical development.

The Role

This position requires a "player-coach" mentality-someone who is as comfortable collaborating at the C-suite level as they are building tactical tools. You will lead the delivery of technology solutions that empower investment teams, bridging the gap between core systems and front-office needs through a mix of Python development, low-code automation, and robust database management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the primary technical bridge between Investment Professionals and the IT function
• Developing and maintaining tactical tools using Python (Pandas/NumPy) and web frameworks
• Implementing low-code/no-code solutions via Microsoft Power Platform to streamline operations
• Managing the full development lifecycle, including Git-based version control and secure deployment
• Collaborating directly with C-level executives to align technology strategy with business goals
• Integrating and automating Excel workflows using VBA where essential for investment processes
• Managing data storage and manipulation using SQL Server and other database technologies
  
  

Requirements

• Tactical Development: Expert proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Flask/Django)
• Automation: Practical experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
• Legacy/Integration: Strong VBA skills for advanced Excel automation
• DevOps: Advanced Git knowledge (branching, merging) and experience with GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket
• Data: Proficiency in SQL (specifically MS SQL Server) for complex data manipulation
• Soft Skills: Motivated, energetic, and experienced in C-level stakeholder management
• Best Practices: Deep understanding of code review workflows and secure financial deployments
