Azure Engineer - BAE Systems
Location: Preston (predominantly remote - 1-2 days/month onsite)
Contract: 6-month contract
Rate: £269.23 PAYE / £362.54 Umbrella
Overview
Join BAE Systems as an Azure Engineer, helping to build and optimise secure, scalable cloud platforms. You'll work with cross functional teams to deliver modern Azure solutions, driving automation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage Azure infrastructure (compute, network, storage)
- Deliver Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform)
- Support landing zones and cloud governance (RBAC, Policy)
- Work with AKS, App Services & serverless
- Troubleshoot and provide 3rd line support
- Improve cost, performance, and monitoring (Azure Monitor, CI/CD)
What You'll Bring
- Strong Azure experience (core services + networking/security)
- IaC and automation expertise
- Knowledge of AKS, Entra ID, and DevOps pipelines
- Excellent problem solving and collaboration skills
- Must be eligible for UK security clearance
