Hybrid: Leeds (2 days per week in the office)
Requirements
Strong Java + Spring Boot background
Proven experience in back end engineering (APIs, microservices, distributed systems)
Ability to design and deliver solutions, not just implement tickets
Experience working across end-to-end systems with an understanding of wider architecture
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think in terms of "what and why," not just how
Comfortable working in collaborative engineering teams
Strong communication skills (ability to clearly explain technical decisions and thinking)
Desirable
Exposure to front end or full-stack environments (not essential)
Experience working in modern engineering environments where automation/AI is evolving development practices
Interview Process
You will go through a technical interview process focused on:
Discussing your approach to problem-solving and system design
Demonstrating your back end expertise (Java/Spring)
Talking through how you've contributed to end-to-end solutions and architectural decisions
Collaborating with engineers to explain your thinking and approach clearly
