Job Description

Senior Systems Engineer (AWS)

Lead the design and improvement of cloud-based systems, translating complex technical challenges into scalable, reliable solutions in AWS or similar environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor system health and proactively manage risks to performance, stability, and security
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system and performance issues
  • Design and implement system improvements, configurations, and automation
  • Support change management processes and impact assessments
  • Develop infrastructure as code and automation scripts
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and partners
  • Share knowledge and support team development
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and reporting practices
  • Support incident response and recovery readiness
  • Contribute to scalability and capacity planning
  • Apply security best practices
  • Maintain clear documentation
Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, EKS)
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX systems
  • Experience with scripting or automation (Bash, Python)
  • Understanding of DevOps and infrastructure as code practices
  • Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic)
  • Knowledge of security, backup, and disaster recovery practices
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience supporting system reliability and incident management
  • Interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing
