The Rail Engineering Services (RES) team within WSP's Rail division is actively seeking a BIM Coordinator to lead MEP delivery of our diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary rail engineering projects.

We are looking for people with the ability to make a difference, proactively manage requirements and risks, and influence others to deliver successfully. Candidates must have excellent communication, problem solving skills, and demonstrable experience in engineering management within rail.

As a BIM Coordinator you will:

  • Provide support at a project level assembling baseline existing design information models and discipline specific template design coordination models.
  • Support the Technical Discipline Leads with enhancing their design processes that maximise structured information exchange across multiple software platforms and systems.
  • Provide support to the engineering discipline teams in the production of their 3D modelling outputs as required, mentoring and upskilling technical staff if requested.

A little more about your team

You will join a team of professionally qualified, diverse, talented individuals who collaborate to:

  • Undertake project work from across the design lifecycle, including early concept stage to detail design
  • Deliver projects for Network Rail, HS2, Transport for the North, TfGM, Nexus, local authorities, principal contractors, and private developers

Reporting to a senior member of our rail engineering services team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and challenging multi disciplinary rail projects around.

What we would look for you to demonstrate:

  • Either an engineering qualification (HND or similar preferred) or possess appropriate experience working on infrastructure design projects, preferably at tender and detailed design stages. Industry recognised CAD/BIM software certification would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of 3D design through the use of Bentley AECOsim V8i.
  • Proficiency in the use of Bentley ProjectWise V8i for data management purposes and a working knowledge of Bentley eB for document management.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including writing macros to undertake complex or repetitive calculations, lookup and pivot tables. Experience of VBA would be advantageous. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software packages.

We encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, pregnancy or maternity/paternity.
