The Physics Verification Engineer at Elekta will leverage experience as a Medical Physicist in Radiation Therapy to design and execute solution level test procedures, ensuring the Elekta Medical Linear Accelerator and MR Linac solutions operate together effectively and meet clinical physics requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain expert domain knowledge of Medical Physics within Radiation Therapy.
- Develop and maintain broad knowledge of products across the Linac solution.
- Offer physics overviews and insights on end to end clinical and QA workflows, and system demonstrations.
- Support risk based testing approaches aligned with medical device safety standards.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory frameworks (IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, AAPM TG 142, TG 51, TG 218).
- Ensure full traceability between requirements, test cases, and execution results.
- Analyze test data using quantitative methods to verify solution requirements within clinical tolerances.
- Review solution level requirements for testability and create test procedures.
- Provide support to automation testers in developing automated workflow tests.
- Assist the Solution Verification Team Lead in identifying regression test sets.
- Coordinate with the Test Facilities team to ensure equipment and system configuration readiness.
- Run approved test procedures, record results accurately, and drive issue resolution.
- Create problem reports with clear steps to reproduce and perform retesting.
- Revert changes to a known good baseline when necessary.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and automation frameworks.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Medical Physics with at least 3 years of recent clinical/research experience in a radiotherapy department.
- Experience performing QA in a radiotherapy department.
- Knowledge of Elekta products preferred (Monaco TPS, MOSAIQ, VersaHD, etc.).
- Strong experience in one or more programming languages.
- Ability to translate product requirements into structured, comprehensive test plans and procedures.
- Self motivated, collaborative, with strong analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills.
- Awareness of the SAFe Agile framework is an advantage.
- Hands on experience with Elekta linac systems and associated software solutions is considered an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in clinically representative test environments is considered an advantage.
