When you join Aston Martin Lagonda as a Software Asset Manager you'll play a central role in shaping how the organisation controls, optimises and invests in its technology estate. Working across the business to deliver secure, stable and progressive technology solutions, you'll own the strategy, standards and operating model for software asset management (SAM) and become the go to authority on licence position, audit readiness and optimisation insight.
Responsibilities• Build and evolve an enterprise wide SAM capability, setting strategy and defining standards.
• Own the governance framework for SAM, setting policies and controls across the full life cycle.
• Work with Architecture, Procurement, Finance, Legal and Security to ensure software decisions are aligned, compliant and commercially sound.
• Lead audit engagement and responses, protecting the organisation from risk or unnecessary cost.
• Maintain a trusted, accurate view of the software estate, overseeing discovery, reconciliation, optimisation and renewal readiness.
• Translate data into action: re harvest licences, right size subscriptions and provide data led recommendations for vendor negotiations.
• Own and develop the SAM tooling capability, including ServiceNow SAM Pro, ensuring it is configured, integrated and governed for decision grade reporting.
• Deliver a KPI framework that showcases compliance posture, audit readiness and cost optimisation opportunities to senior stakeholders.
• Occasionally cover finance related SAM activities during periods of absence to maintain continuity of critical work.
• Collaborate across a matrix organisation, driving adoption of standards and controls with stakeholders.
• Proven experience building or leading a SAM function at enterprise scale across hybrid environments.
• Deep understanding of complex vendor licensing models, especially with Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe and IBM.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to convert data into actionable insights that produce savings, risk reduction or improved decision making.
• Demonstrated experience with SAM tooling, ServiceNow SAM Pro essential.
• Experience with data governance and integration into wider ITSM or CMDB environments.
• Comfortable influencing across a matrix organisation and bringing stakeholders to adopt new standards and controls.
• Hybrid working model with two days per week on site in Gaydon and occasional travel to other locations as needed.
