Job Description

Role Overview

As a Teacher at Witherslack Group, you'll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and social, emotional and mental health needs. You'll help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self esteem.

The position opens in Autumn term 2026 at Ardenwood School, the primary campus of The Secret Garden School, catering to up to 40 pupils with a wide range of needs including autism and SEMH. Our aim is to ensure every pupil receives an outstanding educational experience, with individual progress, care and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support and learning opportunities for pupils with ASD/SEMH needs.
  • Work closely with in house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Desired Attributes
  • Resilient and dedicated with a 'can do' attitude and willingness to help others.
  • Passionate about teaching humanities and relating the subject to each pupil.
  • Ability to relate your subject to each pupil and build great relationships with your class.
  • Enthusiasm and expertise to build your department.
Qualifications

Previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status.
