Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Transformation Lead to provide interim expertise in accelerating strategic cyber security transformation initiatives. Working closely with the Deputy CISO and Cyber Security & Information Assurance function, you will play a key role in supporting cyber strategy, governance, assurance, policy development, and organisational cyber maturity.
This role requires a strong strategic cyber background combined with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, influence change, and support the delivery of long-term cyber transformation objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an internal cyber security advisor aligned with organisational strategy and objectives.
- Lead and coordinate the resolution of complex and high-profile cyber security issues.
- Develop, refresh and embed cyber policies, standards and procedures.
- Track compliance, adoption and governance alignment across programmes.
- Provide portfolio oversight, reporting and remediation management.
- Conduct horizon scanning activities and provide leadership briefings on emerging threats and trends.
- Support the development of cyber profession standards alongside HR and Learning & Development teams.
- Contribute to cyber assurance activities and senior-level incident readiness planning.
- Ensure alignment with statutory obligations including GDPR and wider regulatory requirements.
Ideal Experience
- Strong background in cyber security transformation and governance.
- Experience working closely with CISO or senior cyber leadership functions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership communication skills.
- Proven experience developing cyber policies, standards and strategic frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cyber assurance, compliance and risk management.
- Experience within highly regulated or complex environments would be advantageous.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working
- 2 days per week onsite in the North West England area (mandatory)
