Nzime are looking for a talented Backend Developer with a passion for PHP, custom integrations, working with API's, AI, third party systems and producing performant, standards compliant code.

We are a busy, dynamic digital agency looking for an enthusiastic and capable developer to join our team. You'll be instrumental in building and maintaining high-quality web solutions for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Developing, maintaining, and optimising backend services using PHP and the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).

Working with version control, primarily GIT, to manage and track code changes.

Debugging issues and reviewing code from peers to ensure quality and best practice standards.

Contributing creative technical ideas and solutions to the development team.

Working effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.

Actively keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and suggesting innovative ways to apply them to our work.

Essential Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a Backend Developer (ideally 2+ years) or equivalent.

Strong proficiency in PHP and working within a LAMP environment.

Expertise in using GIT for version control.

Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.

A keen interest in emerging tech, such as AI, and how it can be used to enhance development.

The ability to contribute positively to a team environment and communicate effectively.

  • Prior experience with CraftCMS or similar modern PHP Content Management Systems.
