SRE Technical Lead

Location: Wokingham - Hybrid working (2-3 days onsite)

Salary: Up to £120,000 + 10% bonus

Clearance: Active SC clearance required

  • We have an exciting opportunity for an SRE Technical Lead/Manager to join a major UK critical infrastructure programme delivering large-scale cloud-native transformation at enterprise scale.
  • In this role, you'll take ownership of SRE strategy and platform reliability across complex Kubernetes and OpenShift environments, helping shape engineering standards, operational maturity, and long-term platform stability.
  • You'll work within a modern cloud-native environment leveraging Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, service mesh, observability tooling, and automation-first engineering practices.
  • This is a highly influential role where you'll lead and mentor high-performing SRE teams while remaining technically close to engineering delivery. You'll play a key role in shaping reliability engineering across a visible, multi-vendor environment where resilience and up time genuinely matter.

Skills Required

  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift (non-negotiable)
  • Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures
  • Hands-on experience with observability platforms
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code and GitOps experience
  • Proven experience with CI/CD automation and reliability-focused engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor across multi-vendor delivery environments
  • Proven track record operating as a technical authority

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Red Hat ACM/ACS, Submariner networking, and enterprise databases
  • Experience working in large-scale, client-Embedded environments
