Coba IT are hiring on behalf of a client for a Software Development Team Leader to drive innovation across software and digital product development within a highly collaborative R&D environment.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to lead, inspire, and shape high-performing teams-while still staying close to the tech.

The Role

As Software Development Team Leader, you'll take ownership of both people and delivery-guiding a talented software team while contributing to the design and development of innovative, scalable products.

You'll work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to bring new ideas from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing software team
  • Drive ideation, research, and specification of new digital products
  • Oversee development of scalable software and firmware solutions
  • Plan, prioritise, and manage workloads across multiple projects
  • Communicate progress with key stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Champion best practices, documentation, and quality standards
  • Manage projects end-to-end, including external partner collaboration
  • Lead Agile sprint planning, stand ups, and delivery cycles
  • Support full lifecycle delivery-from concept through testing and release
  • Contribute hands on to development when needed
What We're Looking For
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a software-related field
  • Strong background in commercial software development environments
  • Proven leadership experience, including line management responsibility
  • Deep understanding of software engineering and testing principles
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint planning
  • Track record of delivering projects from concept to completion
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Audio or music related software development
  • Experience with frameworks such as JUCE
  • Embedded or firmware development knowledge
  • Understanding of DSP (Digital Signal Processing)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence
  • Exposure to full product lifecycle or manufacturing environments
  • Personal interest in music or the creative industries
