Job Description

Overview

Expleois a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services and management consulting for digital transformation. We help businesses harness unrelenting technological change to successfully deliver innovations that will help them gain a competitive advantage and improve the everyday lives of people around the globe.

As part of our continued support to a major customer in the Automotive industry, we are seeking an experienced ADAS Integration Test & Calibration Engineer to support the delivery, validation, and optimisation of advanced driver assistance systems across vehicle platforms. This role focuses on software-centric and electrical system integration, diagnostics, and calibration, with limited emphasis on mechanical testing. The successful candidate will have strong experience in automotive electronics, in-vehicle networks, ADAS sensor technologies, and system-level validation processes. The position requires an engineer who can operate across the V-Model, from requirements refinement through to test execution, analysis, and issue resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and document ADAS system integration, test, and calibration activities across rigs, simulation environments, and vehicle platforms.
  • Perform static and dynamic calibration procedures for camera, radar, LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors using OEM-specified tools and alignment methods.
  • Conduct system-level testing using CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet diagnostic environments (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe, INCA, CRETA, PCAN).
  • Analyse data logs, identify anomalies, support root cause investigations, and liaise with systems, software, and hardware engineering teams to drive fixes.
  • Support software flashing, configuration, parameterisation, and validation of ECU functionalities and ADAS feature behaviours.
  • Contribute to test automation and data analysis using scripting/programming (Python, CAPL, C, MATLAB, Simulink).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, calibration steps, defects, and vehicle-level integration outcomes.
  • Provide feedback into the requirements and system definition process, helping refine system specifications based on delivery and testing outcomes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support component integration, system validation, and calibration readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and integration workflows across software and electrical domains.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in ADAS system testing, calibration, or vehicle electrical integration.
  • Valid UK driving licence, ideally with experience in structured road testing, proving ground testing, or controlled calibration drive cycles.
  • Professional training or accreditations in ADAS calibration, FMEA, Failure Mode Avoidance, or requirements engineering are advantageous.
Essential skills
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage vehicle architectures, and in-vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
  • Hands-on experience using automotive diagnostic and test tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, INCA, CRETA, PCAN Explorer).
  • Proven capability in ADAS system testing, sensor data interpretation, and calibration (camera, radar, LiDAR, ultrasonic).
  • Proficiency with scripting or programming for test automation and data analysis (Python, CAPL, C, MATLAB).
  • Ability to interpret system requirements, derive test cases, and validate software functionality.
  • Strong analytical and root-cause-analysis skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing system or component delivery activities.
  • Clear technical communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Desired skills
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), or model-based simulation environments (e.g., dSPACE, CANoe SIL, AVSimulation).
  • Familiarity with MBSE approaches and tools.
  • Exposure to VHDL/HDL or digital electronics design principles.
  • Experience with system FMEA, Control Plans, or structured requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion, DOORS).
  • Experience with cruise control, ACC, or other feature-level ADAS/ADAS+ domain systems.
  • Familiarity with automated test development or model-based calibration methods.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 26262, Euro NCAP protocols, or functional safety processes.
Experience
  • This role is suited to engineers who enjoy hands on integration work, complex system debugging, and deep interaction with cross functional teams.
  • Work may involve occasional travel to proving grounds, supplier sites, or customer facilities.
  • The environment is fast paced and delivery focused, with opportunities to influence system design, requirements, and integration methodologies.
Benefits
  • Collaborative working environment - we stand shoulder to shoulder with our clients and our peers through good times and challenges.
  • We empower all passionate technology loving professionals by allowing them to expand their skills and take part in inspiring projects.
  • ExpleoAcademy - enables you to acquire and develop the right skills by delivering a suite of accredited training courses.
  • Competitive company benefits.
  • Always working as one team, our people are not afraid to think big and challenge the status quo.

    • Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible.
    • Communicating and promoting vacancies.
    • Offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the job.
    • Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required.
    • Supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people.
