Role/Team overview
This role sits in a business critical domain responsible for application distribution and orchestration across the Sky Europe estate, reaching tens of millions of customer devices. The team is shaping a modern, aligned capability across Comcast, Sky and Comcast syndication partners globally, focusing on scalable platforms, reliable delivery and strong engineering ownership.
What you'll do
- Develop and deliver excellent quality software at high scale
- Participate in the full software lifecycle, including support and continuous integration
- Contribute to the technical direction of the team
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other developers on the team
- Share and generate new ideas, provide constructive and useful feedback to peers
- Work with internal Sky teams, external vendors and colleagues in Comcast in the US
What you'll bring
Essential criteria:
- Commercial experience with at least one modern programming language
- Experience building and supporting production software systems
- Experience with code review, automated testing, debugging and continuous integration
- Proven ability to write maintainable, performant and well structured code
- Experience working with and continuously improving CI/CD in an agile team
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn across the stack
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience with Go or TypeScript
- Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless architectures
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes or infrastructure as code
- Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases
- Experience working with observability and operational tooling
- Experience with solution design
