Role: BDM UK - Based: United Kingdom

Kidde Global Solutions, a global technology leader in fire and life safety solutions, is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to support and grow our Commercial Fire Detection business in the UK, increase our market share and support our existing Sales Team. The role includes laying the foundations and helping grow revenue while meeting the financial expectations of the Business Unit.

Role Summary

The BDM will focus on identifying and targeting the following business opportunities:

  • End user, OEM, Consultant, Architect and Insurance relationships
  • Larger and strategic projects still in a development stage
  • Developing and creating a market for our relevant new technologies
  • High valued products and services
  • Cross segment/product line collaboration with other regional team members
  • Cross selling collaboration with relevant colleagues from other entities

Experience in selling and specifying Fire Detection solutions in verticals applications such as commercial architect and main contractor opportunities.

Product Ranges and Territory

Focus on Fire Detection, technical know how of relevant systems and proven sales achievement in this space is a must.

Tasks and Details
  • Report to the Regional Country Manager UK & Ireland
  • Meet agreed sales and Gross Margin objectives monthly and annually
  • Comply with Kidde Global Solutions Ethics and compliance policies
  • Launch the Fire Detection Systems to architects, Consultants, end users
  • Identify new opportunities and partners, propose solutions and follow them through
  • Travel to meet stakeholders at all levels on a regular basis
  • Make regular visits, identify projects and follow through from conception to close
  • Prepare, submit and follow up quotations
  • Maintain customer records on CRM (Salesforce)
  • Host seminars and training at customer premises and remotely
  • Keep spending within budgets
  • Support Sales Team to ensure they meet and exceed targets
  • Develop CPD content to best educate customers
Person Specification
  • Strong sales experience developing new Fire Detection business to consultants, main contractors, distributors, system integrators and end users
  • Self motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision and handling difficult and complicated situations
  • Enthusiastic and able to meet challenges presented
  • Good knowledge and understanding of software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Team oriented and able to work within a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confidence and expertise when proposing solutions as primary product or alternatives to competitor proposals

The final compensation will be set based on the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
