Salary: £37,892 (basic £35,134 + concessionary payment £2,758)
Flexible working: Primarily office based due to sensitive nature, but flexible working arrangements are supported, including flexitime, full time, part time, or compressed hours.
The roleAs a Telephony Infrastructure Engineer, you will keep the UK Government connected when it matters most. You will work across classified telephony platforms-including call gateways, enterprise media, and transcription services-to ensure services remain resilient, compliant, and ready for anything. You will engineer improvements, resolve complex cross domain issues, and collaborate with partners and suppliers.
You will be part of a collaborative team of experts, and as capability develops you may be eligible for a skill payment at Infrastructure Engineering Level 1 or above. Once training is complete, you may join the optional on call rota for additional pay. Occasional overseas travel may be required.
About youNo specific qualifications are required. You will have experience in telephony infrastructure and a solid understanding of networking and the support and maintenance of voice and unified communications (UC) systems-whether gained through formal training or practical experience.

Over a 2-3 year placement you will develop toward Infrastructure Engineering Level 2, with internal and external training, including opportunities for Cisco and other certifications.
