Description

As a Data and AI Consultant, you will be an integral member of our Data & AI practice, supporting the design and delivery of modern data platforms, analytics solutions and applied AI use cases for our customers. You will contribute to engagements from discovery through build, deployment and transition to support, working closely with senior colleagues and client stakeholders. This role requires a blend of strong technical foundations (data engineering/analytics) and consulting skills, including clear communication, documentation and an outcome-focused approach to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support business development and pre-sales conversations by providing technical input
    (e.g., solution options, estimates, demos/PoCs).
  • Contribute to pre-sales and delivery support activities and, where appropriate, help
    maintain effective relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Support the design, development and delivery of Microsoft Azure and/or on-premises
    solutions as part of a delivery team.
  • Implement cloud technology-based solutions for customers, following agreed standards
    for quality, security and maintainability.
  • Prepare documentation and contribute to progress reporting for internal and external
    stakeholders.
  • Support the development of junior colleagues through knowledge sharing and peer
    support.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc duties and projects as required.
Skills Knowledge & Expertise Technical Skills
  • Experience implementing data ingestion and orchestration into Azure using Data
    Factory, Synapse or Fabric pipelines (and/or SSIS).
  • Experience with Azure AI services and tooling (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search,
    Azure AI Foundry/Studio) and/or ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow).
  • Experience in Alteryx.
  • Experience in WhereScape Red.
Non-Technical Skills
  • Presentation skills to mixed audiences.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting position within a software & services company.
  • Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources.
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation, especially when
    explaining complex Data and AI solutions (and architectures) in simple terms.
  • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen.
  • Highly organised. Able to prioritise a variety of critical short, medium- and long-term
    tasks for multiple activities.

Experience
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, contributing to technical architecture and design
    discussions to meet business challenges.
  • 2-4 years' experience delivering components of enterprise data, analytics and/or AI
    solutions.
  • 2-4 years' experience building on-premises and/or cloud-based data platforms (data
    lakes/lakehouses, warehouses/marts and MI reporting). Exposure to applied AI,
    including GenAI patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and basic
    evaluation/monitoring, is desirable.
  • Experience supporting consultative/technical pre-sales activities (e.g., contributing to
    solution options, estimates, demos/PoCs and stakeholder workshops).
  • Experience contributing to transformation programmes and supporting a smooth
    transition to implementation and/or support teams.
Education
  • Desired - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in STEM subjects.
