Job Description

Role Summary

As an Electronic Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing new PCB designs into life, verifying product performance, and ensuring exceptional product reliability through rigorous test development and structured problem solving. You will work across the full engineering lifecycle - from concept and verification through to supporting production and field returned products. This role suits someone with strong fundamentals in analogue, digital, embedded, and power electronics, combined with a methodical, hands on approach to engineering challenges. You will have the opportunity to influence design quality, develop bespoke test solutions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world class products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, execute, and maintain verification test plans for new designs.
  • Develop test requirements that maximise PCB assembly test coverage and ensure robust validation against customer specifications.
  • Design, build, and document test equipment for verification and production use.
  • Use scripting or automation tools to streamline testing, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Produce detailed technical reports summarising test results and PASS/FAIL status.
  • Deliver hardware and software based test solutions within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Support introduction and verification of third party test equipment and fixtures.
Root Cause Analysis & Production Support
  • Fault find complex electronic assemblies to component level, including FPGAs, embedded processors, analogue/digital circuitry, and power electronics.
  • Lead structured root cause investigations for recurring or pattern based failures observed in production or by CEMs.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify emerging issues and support cross discipline engineering problem solving.
  • Create procurement specifications for ATE systems, bed of nails fixtures, and bespoke test platforms.
  • Produce documentation to support manual test procedures, rework processes, and production workflows.
Your profile
  • HNC or higher in Electronic Engineering (or relevant discipline).
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a product development or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong schematic reading ability and understanding of functional circuit blocks.
  • Proven capability in diagnosing faults to component level and completing structured reports (e.g., 8D).
  • Solid background in analogue, digital, power, and embedded electronics.
  • Proficient with oscilloscopes, DVMs, PSUs, function generators, and general lab equipment.
  • Confident hands on skills: soldering, PCB rework, modifications, prototyping.
  • Understanding of PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with data analysis, scripting, macros, or software tools.
  • Knowledge of DFM and DFT principles.
  • Strong communication skills, including interactions with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Self motivated, organised, and enthusiastic with a problem solving mindset.
