We are looking for an experienced Python Django Developer Intern to be a part of our Wellcreator development team.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assist in building and maintaining Django applications, contributing to both front end and back end tasks.
- Work closely with senior developers to implement new features and make improvements.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure the app runs smoothly.
- Write clean, well documented code for easy maintenance and future updates.
- Participate in code reviews to share and receive constructive feedback.
- Learn about database management and work with Django ORM for handling data and migrations.
- Contribute to writing and running tests to make sure features work as expected.
- Collaborate with the team to deploy apps to cloud platforms like Heroku or AWS.
- Set up and maintain a local development environment for testing and debugging.
- Work with the front end team to ensure smooth integration between user interfaces and back end logic.
- Follow best practices for security and data integrity.
- Participate in team stand ups to provide progress updates and discuss blockers.
- Be proactive about learning new skills and improving through self study and feedback.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Some understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Object Oriented Programming (OOP), and experience with Agile workflows.
- A strong interest in web development and eagerness to learn new technologies on the job.
- Comfortable working independently and managing smaller tasks or projects.
- A team player who enjoys collaborating and helping others when needed.
- A natural problem solver who loves tackling challenges and finding creative solutions.
- Good time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience with version control systems like Git or GitHub.
- Open to feedback and motivated to improve by learning from others.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to teammates.
- Focused on writing clean, readable, and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with basic web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Enthusiastic about learning Django and gaining hands on experience with back end development.
- Some experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, even if just through coursework.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges, especially when things get tough.
