Job Description

The Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance (GDBF) is seeking up to two external volunteer members to join its newly established Risk Committee-a key group supporting effective governance, oversight, and risk management across the organisation.

As a Committee Member, you'll use your professional experience to help ensure that risks are identified , monitored , and managed in alignment with the GDBF'smission and values. You'll contribute to high level discussions, provide constructive challenge, and support a strong culture of accountability and good governance.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to analysecomplex information
  • Confidence in offering constructive challenge and independent judgement
  • Commitment to reading papers and attending quarterly daytime meetings
  • Experience in risk, governance, finance, operations, or senior leadership (desirable)
  • Knowledge of charity governance or Church of England structures (helpful but not essential)
