Job Description

G4S is offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Hospital Security Officer on our University Hospitals Birmingham contract. We provide enhanced rates of pay for unsocial hours, ensuring you are well-compensated for your hard work and dedication.

Applicants must have a valid SIA Door Supervisor license. If you have experience in the military, police or prison custody we can provide the relevant SIA Door Supervisor training.

Position: Hospital Security Officer
Location: Cover hospitals in Birmingham, Solihull & Sutton Coldfield
Pay Rate: £12.92 per hour (£25,263 - £36,000 per annum) dependent on shift pattern and number of shifts worked
Nights and Saturdays: £18.21 per hour
Sundays: £23.62 per hour
Bank Holidays: £22.62 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: Days, Nights, and Weekends

Your Time at Work

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will be responsible for securing three NHS hospitals across Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield & Solihull.

  • Work as part of a team to manage security across different sites.
  • Utilise keen conflict management skills to de-escalate incidents.
  • Interact with staff and the public, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
  • Patrol premises, monitor car parks, and assist with emergency situations.
  • Conduct searches and monitor CCTV cameras.
  • Liaise with internal security teams and emergency services when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Valid Door Supervisor SIA License OR experience in the military, police or prison custody.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the security industry or military, police or prison custody.
  • Own transport and a full clean UK driving licence.
  • Basic IT skills and understanding of smart mobile use.
  • Flexibility to work varied shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Experience working security in healthcare is desirable.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding is desirable.
