The Role

As a Senior Cloud Database Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of critical database environments in a 24/7 cloud-first ecosystem.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be trusted to optimise, innovate, and continuously improve systems that simply cannot fail.

What you'll be doing

• Managing and optimising high-availability SQL Server environments
• Driving database performance tuning and system efficiency
• Owning backup, recovery, and disaster resilience strategies
• Implementing and maintaining robust database security practices
• Supporting real-time, high-volume data systems
• Collaborating across engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges

What you'll bring

• Strong experience managing mission-critical SQL Server databases
• Advanced T-SQL expertise
• Proven experience with replication and high availability (Availability Groups)
• A problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in fast-paced environments
• Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Experience with modern data technologies (e.g. Kafka, Snowflake, Aurora)
• Scripting or development experience (PowerShell, C#, .NET)
• Familiarity with data tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
• Version control and DevOps tooling (GitHub, etc.)
