Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineer - Python - Automation - 12 month contract - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)

I have an immediate opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer to join a busy team in Glasgow.

You'll sit between software engineering, data platforms and operations, using SRE practices to automate, stabilise and improve distributed services. You'll own reliability from data ingestion and cloud data workloads through to semantic layers and AI-driven capabilities.

I am therefore keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Proven experience in SRE, production engineering, platform engineering or a closely related role, ideally within corporate, enterprise-scaled environments
• Strong automation and Scripting skills, particularly with Python.
• Proven experience operating and supporting production systems at scale.
• Hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Solid understanding of change and incident management processes in enterprise environments.
• Experience with cloud based data platforms, including Snowflake, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerting and observability patterns, infrastructure-as-code concepts, Unix/Linux and basic networking.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, data and product teams; experience with semantic data models, analytics-oriented platforms or AI/GenAI services is beneficial.
