Python Tester - Active SC Required

Job Title: Python Tester
Location: Remote (UK-based)
Contract Length: 6 months
Day Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Python Tester to support a major UK Government digital programme. You will focus on automated testing for Python-based services within a secure, fast-paced public-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python
• Perform functional, integration and regression testing
• Test APIs, microservices and Back End components
• Log, track and document defects clearly
• Collaborate with developers, BAs and delivery teams
• Work within Agile/GDS-style delivery processes

Essential Skills:

• Strong background as a Python Tester/Test Automation Engineer
• Experience with Python test frameworks (PyTest, Behave, Robot Framework)
• API testing (REST/JSON)
• CI/CD knowledge (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Experience working on UK Government projects
• Active SC Clearance is mandatory

Nice-to-Have:

• Cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
• Performance or load testing
• Understanding of GDS standards
