We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst - Data to join our Technology function, working with Product Owners, engineers and stakeholders to shape and deliver scalable data solutions that support business outcomes.
Acting as a key link between business teams and delivery squads, you'll translate complex business needs into clear data requirements and ensure solutions align with the product vision and roadmap. You'll also support the development of best practice across the Data BA community.
The role can be based from our Wolverhampton or Chatham office and will require occasional travel between all OSB Group locations.
What you will be doing:
As Senior Business Analyst - Data, you'll help define and deliver data solutions that improve reporting, insight and decision-making across the Group.
You'll lead the analysis and definition of data requirements across multiple products and initiatives, ensuring that business needs are translated into clear, actionable user stories for our agile delivery teams. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to design data solutions that are desirable, viable, feasible and sustainable, supporting OSB Group's ambition to become a truly data-centric organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the key intermediary between business stakeholders, Product Owners, and development teams to ensure alignment with the data product roadmap and to identify opportunities to enhance data products.
- Supporting backlog prioritisation, considering business value and technical dependencies
- Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable and aligned with architecture and governance standards
- Translating business needs into clear, concise and actionable user stories, data requirements and acceptance criteria
- Facilitating discovery workshops to capture and analyse business and data requirements, documenting outcomes and potential solutions.
- Actively participating in all relevant Agile events such as PI planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives advocating for alignment and relentless improvement.
- Developing data models, data flows and other data related artefacts to visualise data relationship and process to support decision making.
- Provide line management for a team of business analyst, ensuring high quality analysis delivery.

Do you have the skills?
We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:
- A strong track record as a Senior Business Analyst or Product Owner within an agile environment, ideally focused on data-centric projects or programmes in a Financial Services organisation.
- Strong experience delivering data-focused analysis, including data modelling and data lineage
- Strong knowledge of business analysis framework, tools and best practice (e.g. requirements elicitation, process modelling, stakeholder analysis, traceability).
- Proficiency in writing functional and technical user stories and related acceptance criteria in alignment with business objectives.
- Experience working in Agile framework and using SQL and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Familiarity with data architecture, ETL processes and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with experience defining and documenting as-is and to-be processes and translating business needs into functional and technical user stories with clear acceptance criteria aligned to business goals.
