Role: Software Developer
Location: Cheltenham
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 (Dependent on experience)
Clearance eligibility: British Passport Holder with 10+ years of UK residency required

We are partnering with a specialist technology consultancy in Cheltenham to find a mid-level Software Developer to join their growing Cloud Infrastructure team. This is a unique opportunity for a Python specialist to transition into the secure environment, as our client is prepared to sponsor the right candidate through the vetting process.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy to design, develop, and implement software solutions that power complex cloud environments. You will be a key bridge between traditional software development and modern cloud infrastructure, ensuring that automation and scalability are at the heart of every deployment.

Technical Requirements

  • Python: Hands-on experience in developing high-quality, maintainable code, with a deep understanding of Python libraries and best practices.
  • Cloud: Proven experience working within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Automation: A passion for "Infrastructure as Code" and using software to solve infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Automate: Create robust Python-based tools and applications to enhance cloud capability and automate manual workflows.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the wider infrastructure team to integrate software solutions with cloud-based services.
  • Problem Solve: Use your initiative to identify technical bottlenecks and implement creative, scalable fixes.
  • Technical Excellence: Maintain high standards of documentation and code quality in line with project requirements.

Security & Eligibility

Due to the sensitive nature of the work conducted on-site in Cheltenham, candidates must be British Passport holders with a minimum of 10 years of continuous UK residency to meet the criteria for the required security clearances.
