About the Opportunity: Provide accurate estimates for work packages and contribute to planning and prioritisation. Take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively communicate progress, and resolve issues as they arise. Translate customer requirements into detailed system, architectural, mathematical and software requirements. Develop and perform unit tests and maximise test coverage. Participate in design reviews, provide constructive feedback, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Translate detailed requirements into software applications using current tool chains and best practices. Contribute to the development of Test, Support and Development infrastructure. Prepare production data including technical data packs and test specifications. Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to identify suitable components and materials, balancing technical and commercial considerations. Contribute ideas to support innovative solutions and continuous improvement, ensuring solutions adhere to existing quality and technical standards/processes. Design and implement software to support manufacturing rigs and development tooling, ensuring solutions are robust, resilient and maintainable. Implement complex mathematical algorithms in software, ensuring performance and accuracy. Contribute to the full product lifecycle, from requirements to release. Supporting other activities as needed to help the team succeed. About your Talent: Essential skills and experience: Solid experience with Python and Javascript with a keenness to further develop these skills. Strong expertise of data management and data visualisation tools - and motivated to develop further. Track record of requirements specification and system-level architecture design. Confidence working with a variety of open-source software tools and libraries, with a desire to explore and apply these to real world scenarios. Hands-on experience of DevOps practises, CI/CD, task management and version control systems. Good understanding of (Web) UI/UX design principles and an ability to contribute to front-end development. Strong grasp of mathematical concepts and numerical analysis techniques. Appreciation for science and interest in cutting-edge sensor technologies. Working knowledge of electronic circuits and components. Familiarity with code analysis tools. A background in working with physical or hardware based products - including manufacturing, instrumentation or other critical systems - would be highly beneficial. Desirable skills and experience: Appreciation of signal processing techniques. Awareness of how machine learning can be integrated into scientific or engineering workflows and systems to improve accuracy, efficiency or automation. Experience using GenAI assisted coding and tools. Education / Qualifications: Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical / scientific / engineering subjects. After this period, a hybrid working pattern can be adopted, with a minimum of three days per week onsite. Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, 38 hours per week.
